please ask nicely

May 28, 2009 at 8:09 pm (she say)

this morning, i was trying to teach my girls to share and ask nicely for things.

victoria trying to snatch a percy-torchlight from dorothy.

dorothy fighting not to give the sister.

mum: c’mon, victoria. ask dorothy for it. she will give you.

vic: O.O *stare blank*

dot: gaaahhhh *hands waving everywhere*

mum: vic, ask her lah!

vic: *hands on the toy*silent stare*

dot: ahhhhhhhh

mum: you show her how to ask nicely for things, so she can learn from you. she will follow you next time to ask.

vic: its my toy!

mum: its everybody’s toy! you share! or else nobody will play with you! see dorothy will not play with you.

at this point, dot was handed the toy to me when i say please give mummy and i take (forcefully) from her and given something else to fiddle with, which makes her forget about the torchlight hur hur hur

vic: i wil play by myself.

mum: but its not fun playing alone.

vic: i will play with you. NAH! *handing the torchlight to me*

mum: what is NAH!

vic: Nah means give

mum: o.O

wait, nah doesn’t really mean give. you don’t say ‘nah this to so-and-so’.
